Uiterlijk van de plant: De Monstera Deliciosa, ook wel bekend als de gatenplant, heeft opvallende, grote, hartvormige bladeren met kenmerkende gaten en insnijdingen. De bladeren zijn diep groen en kunnen een imposante uitstraling hebben. De plant kan een weelderige, tropische uitstraling geven met zijn rijke bladpatroon. Bloemen komen zelden voor in een binnenshuis omgeving.

Standplaats: De Monstera Deliciosa gedijt het beste op een plek met helder, indirect licht. Ze kan binnen goed functioneren in een ruimte met veel natuurlijk licht, maar vermijd directe zon om de bladeren te beschermen. Buiten kan de plant worden geplaatst in gedeeltelijke schaduw.

Waterbehoefte: Deze plant heeft een gematigde waterbehoefte. Laat de bovenste laag van de aarde drogen voordat je weer water geeft. Zorg ervoor dat de pot goed drainerend is om wateroverlast en wortelrot te voorkomen.
