Uiterlijk van de plant:
  • De Ficus Lyrata, ook wel bekend als de vioolbladplant, heeft grote, leerachtige bladeren die diep donkergroen zijn. De bladeren zijn opvallend breed en hebben een golvende rand met een licht getekende nerfstructuur, wat de plant een statige uitstraling geeft.
  • De plant heeft een rechtopstaande groeiwijze en produceert geen bloemen, maar haar imposante bladeren maken haar een populaire keuze voor binnenruimtes.
Standplaats:
  • De Ficus Lyrata gedijt het beste op een lichte plaats met veel indirect zonlicht. Te veel direct zonlicht kan de bladeren verbranden, maar te weinig licht zal de groei belemmeren.
  • De plant is perfect voor binnenruimtes zoals de woonkamer of kantoor, maar moet uit de tocht en weg van koude temperaturen worden gehouden.
Waterbehoefte:
  • Deze plant houdt van een vochtige maar goed doorlatende grond. Laat de bovenste laag van de grond opdrogen voordat je opnieuw water geeft. Overbewatering kan leiden tot wortelrot, dus voorzichtigheid is geboden.
  • Het is belangrijk om de plant af en toe te besproeien om de luchtvochtigheid te verhogen, vooral in droge ruimtes.
